Morning Tweets: Flyers PK and PP Must Be Primary Focus of Improvement

Monday, February 2nd, 2016 --

As of this moment in the 2015-16 season, the Flyers' penalty kill ranks 26th in the League. Our power play conversion isn't a glaring beacon of success either, standing at 17.4%... good enough for 22nd in the NHL. We're 5-points outside of a Wild Card position, and our bland special teams have a lot to do with the difference between us contending and hovering outside looking in. 

I shared some statistics on Twitter this morning. 

CORRECTION: Typo, obviously, but *THREE of which in OT/SO. It's a shame there's no edit feature on Twitter...

And just in case you were wondering...

Strangely enough...

So although our special teams, as a whole, should absolutely be the primary focus for improvement, it's feasible to think that our weak penalty kill represents the weakest link of all situations and has cost us most above anything else. 

Then again... without even looking at the stats, I'm positive we all knew this already.
