The NHL’s wounded stars continue to drop like flies.  Several players are being held out due to injuries. They need replaced.

Enter Scott Hartnell.

Many would argue that the loud-mouthed, gritty forward should have been there all along. Putting up some eye-popping numbers thus far, Hartnell 25G and 19A, is having a career year.  “Bird dog” sits sixth in the league in goal scoring behind Stamkos, Toews, Malkin, Kessel, and Neal.  He is also tied for 19th in total points with LA’s Anze Kopitar.  So it’s no surprise that Scott was chosen, finally.

Chicago’s Johnathan Toews is out with an arm injury, making room for the Flyers grinder.

The only question that remains, is there anyone attending the NHL All-star game that the 29-year-old Hartnell hasn’t chirped?

I know Evgeni Malkin, “The ugliest guy in the league”, according to #19, would answer, “No”.

Congratulations on a well deserved honor, Scott.  You undoubtedly deserve it.  I just can’t wait for an All-star #Hartnelldown.  Should be pretty awesome.

Give ‘em hell, Scotty!
