Simmonds accomplished his 20th goal of the season. His career first at reaching the mile marker. Wayne has been nothing short of amazing for the Philadelphia Flyers, and continues to make Paul Holmgren look like a genius for his off-season trades.

This is definitely a slam dunk by Holmgren. The Flyers upgrade their defense, and, for all intensive purposes, don’t give up much in return. They can still add around $2.7-Million (without giving up any players) in salary. So I think it goes without saying that Holmgren has another move, or two, up his sleeve.

Heading into this evening, Buffalo's lost their last two contests and still remain 10-points outside the 8-seed of the Eastern Conference. The Sabres efforts have heaped at the bottom of an abyss this season and it doesn't look they're going to be able to make a run before the schedule ends. But they're still a dangerous squad to face.

But I firmly believe the suspension was too much. Then again, I can live with the fact that Brendan Shanahan is merely using Rinaldo as an example for the rest of the league. We're all evolving; the game, the players, the fans. And it is only two games. That much I can live with.

Despite Brayden Schenn's two-goal evening, Philly lost two leads throughout 60-minutes of play. And it wasn't just losing the leads that had every soul wearing a Flyers crest discomforted; It was how quickly the opposition answered back.

This tilt ended in a scoreless, yet hard fought 3rd period with previous Flyers goals by Scotty Hartnell, Max Talbot, Claude Giroux and Brayden Schenn (GWG).

Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the opposing goalie, and last night Evgeni Nabokov, perhaps showcasing his talents for a playoff team looking for a backup goalie, was back to his old self. An astounding 45-saves, and capped off by denying our two attempts in the dreaded shootout.

Five of the next six puck drops are in our barn. The Flyers have struggled at home, so this is a very important stretch for them. And in case you weren't aware, our boys face losing a third game straight if the lamps are lit more times on the opposite side. It'd be the first time Philadelphia's lost three consecutive matches all season long.
