NHL's Soul Hemorrhaging At The Fists Of Its Management, No More Fighting In Hockey

Earlier this morning, CBC Sports published an article with video and reports of the NHL's senior vice-president of player safety, Brendan Shanahan, admitting that he and the other suits in the war room are taking a look at fighting and whether it "has a place in the game."

Predators in the Rumor Mill, Is Hartnell the Prey?

Since the trade of Jeff Carter to Columbus, and Michael Leighton being demoted to the AHL weekly, no Flyer has had more ridicule than Scotty....but is it warranted?

The Captain Approves, Flyers Skate Past Devils 2 - 1

So Pronger dressed last night. I'm sure you either heard or saw it for yourself. Our Captain - who no one was positive would even be ready to start by the first game of the regular season - led his team on to the ice last night against Kovalchuk and the rest of those chumps from Newark, NJ.

Dump The DOOP!, Get A Real Goal Song

Nevermind the fact that the song's used by the Philadelphia Union, our city's professional soccer team, but our Flyers have decided to blare it and make the ears of fans bleed in agony every time one of our boys disrupts the back of the twine.

Smack Talk Gone Too Far? Did Avery Open Pandora's Box?

The “smack talk” began earlier in the day during the 2012 Winter Classic announcement.  Ranger’s GM Glen Sather and Flyer’s owner Ed Snider shared some playful jabs at one another.  Now I am in no way saying this attributed to the melee later that evening, but it sure set the tone

The Eye of the Douche, A Sean Avery Story

There's no question Sean can seem like a spineless coward whose only point in living is to shop Rodeo Drive and make the skinny-jeans prosper as a business. But please make no mistake that he does what he does on purpose, and he's a goddamn genius at it. Just giving that soft spoken butt knuckle a positive thought leaves me feeling dirty.

Ya Better Czech Yo'Self, Rangers Fall 5 - 3

Jagr's two power-play goals and assist on the GWG were the biggest reasons for the Flyers downing the visiting New York Rangers, 5 - 3. Tonight's performance bests his one goal, one assist from Friday night's victory over the Detroit Red Wings. In six periods of NHL hockey, #68 has three goals and a total of five points.

Hartnell To See Cardiologist this Tuesday

Don't jump to any conclusions. The diagnosis hasn't been disclosed and won't be until Tuesday when Scotty visits a cardiologist. Though he was tested negative for any heart problems Saturday, Paul Holmgren still wants Harts to get checked out by a professional in the trade.

Jagr, JVR & Read Take It To Detroit Rock City

Matt Read is showing all signs of gaining a roster spot on this Flyers squad. He spent the most time on the ice out of any forward (possibly any skater, not too sure) which tells me he has more than Laviolette's attention.

Great Things To Come with Shanahan

When the NHL decided to bring in future Hall of Famer Brendan Shanahan to be the NHL Disciplinarian, I thought it was a good move. Seeing how he's actually EXPLAINING the reasoning for suspensions of a player to the fans for his decision makes me realize ...
