Now he's either staying away from the soul-stealing cameras, or he's pitching his clichés to the beat writers. Those vultures hate it, which means I love it. Bryzgalov's stopping the rubber, and as a Flyers fan....I couldn't be happier.

Heading into yesterday's tilt, the Pittsburgh Flightless Pigeons were hanging on to an 11-game win streak. A win over Philadelphia not only meant their twelfth in a row, but meant being tied for first seed in the Eastern Conference.

Going 1st Overall in the NHL's 2009 Entry Draft, John Tavares has quickly become one of the League's most respected offensive weapons. He's easily the keystone to every opposing coach's strategy leading into a match up versus the Islanders, and he forever will be regardless which Club he skates for.

I find the Islanders to be an annoyance. Almost like having to acknowledge the Capitals as an organization, and forced to listen to their fly-by-night attendance sound off that absolutely pestering "1 - 2 - 3, LET'S GO CAPS!" horn, or however you want to label it.

When writers like Seravalli don't receive much expressive feedback from the players, then Frank's compelled to report the news using dry facts and/or observations. Or, in this case, when Ilya Bryzgalov doesn't dance like a monkey for the cameras.

An absolutely brilliant display of offensive and defensive hockey last night. The crowd appreciated it, the fans watching from home loved it, and the rest of the League's enthusiasts got a bit bug-eyed as Bryzgalov and the Philadelphia Flyers sent another adversary packing with an unmarked score sheet.

So which is it? Jeff Reese, the defense or our younger guns on the backcheck? My guess is that it's all three working together like the gears from a clock.

Though the loss did not reduce our spot in the Conference standings, New Jersey is now tied in points with the Flyers and threaten to set us back to 6th seed with a back-to-back loss on Tuesday when we welcome our rival Devils at the Wells Fargo Center.

This season the Flyers hold the League's highest total in goals-scored by first-time skaters (49). Not only is this an outstanding honor to own this year, but it is such an exciting indicate when considering the immediate and long-term future of this Club.
