Yet again, the Flyers found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This team has yet to put together a solid 60 minute performance all year long. At this point, there isn't much bench boss Laviolette can do with the lines.

Today I'm going to get into the new faces we'll learn to hate very quickly. But more notably, the new faces dressed in the colors of our Atlantic Division rivals.

Going 1st Overall in the NHL's 2009 Entry Draft, John Tavares has quickly become one of the League's most respected offensive weapons. He's easily the keystone to every opposing coach's strategy leading into a match up versus the Islanders, and he forever will be regardless which Club he skates for.

I find the Islanders to be an annoyance. Almost like having to acknowledge the Capitals as an organization, and forced to listen to their fly-by-night attendance sound off that absolutely pestering "1 - 2 - 3, LET'S GO CAPS!" horn, or however you want to label it.

In Philadelphia's last 10-games, the opposing team has averaged their first goal against us in the 9th minute (8:57) from the start of regulation.

If our Power-Play manages to make the smart passes and connections, then the shooting lanes should open up. New York has an incredibly aggressive PK, so if the rebounds are there then Scott Hartnell and/or Wayne Simmonds will have the room to put it home on the second-chance.

Sometimes you have to tip your hat to the opposing goalie, and last night Evgeni Nabokov, perhaps showcasing his talents for a playoff team looking for a backup goalie, was back to his old self. An astounding 45-saves, and capped off by denying our two attempts in the dreaded shootout.

Five of the next six puck drops are in our barn. The Flyers have struggled at home, so this is a very important stretch for them. And in case you weren't aware, our boys face losing a third game straight if the lamps are lit more times on the opposite side. It'd be the first time Philadelphia's lost three consecutive matches all season long.

Hopefully, the boys can remove heads from asses and show up for the game this time. They can’t just show up and beat either of these teams this weekend, and next time they face the budding Islanders, they need to heed the same advice.

Don't miss puck drop tonight at 7:00pm, CSN. Hopefully Cooter extends that streak of his, and Steve Staois gets battered like the filthy bitch his is.
