Soft Goals, Rancid Defense, Questionable Decisions -- All in a Night's Loss, Leafs 4 - 2 Flyers

To make it to the Playoffs, teams will need to add to their win-columns in lump sums, and those who continue to play inconsistently will quickly dwindle on the outside looking in.

How Much Clutch Have Our "Comeback Kids" Lost this Offseason?

Glancing back at a handful of these games, I asked myself a question; Which of these particular comebacks involved goals scored or goals assisted by the three big names that exited Philadelphia this offseason -- JvR, Carle and/or Jagr?

Quit Your Bitching & Get Pumped | Luke Schenn's In Town, Mother F*****s!!!

If you want to develop a final opinion by strictly comparing JVR and Schenn's productivity side-by-side, then you're going to find arguments for Toronto winning the trade, hands down. But you must consider JVR's proneness to injury, and the imminent moves peripherally laid out by Holmgren. This will all come together before the start of training camp.

A Few Flyers Had a Visit with the Doctor | Surgeries & Recoveries

Over this passing weekend, news had gone out about a handful of Flyers players who were striving through their own physical detriments. Kimmo Timonen, Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Matt Carle and James van Riemsdyk were the names in this announcement.

Briere & Co. Knock Off Devils in Game 1 of SemiFinals, and Giroux May Be The Second Coming of Christ

Naturally the Flyers tend to start their tilts a bit slow. It's why this season's team has been nicknamed The Comeback Kids.   Because of that and the defensive way the Devils play, I figured our first game of the series could quite possibly meet extra periods.

Van Riemsdyk Is Given All the Opportunity as the Trade Deadline Comes & Goes

When he's not potting the puck, his inventive awareness proves a huge benefit to his surrounding comrades. We've seen it before. Holmgren knows we'll see it again, and again, and again, and again. JVR....the time's yours.

An Orange & Black Nuclear Weekend | Drama, Drama & More Drama

What an agonizing nightmare. Flyers fans deserve better than this, it's as simple as that. I'm not trying to come off like the organization, the players and life (in general) owe you or I a favor, but when it comes to those who bleed hockey in this city......Bryzgalov's performance on the ice, and character off of the ice is absolutely unacceptable.

JVR Looks Good in Toronto Blue; Why This Deal Makes Sense for the Flyers

It will definitely cost the Flyers one of their young and talented prospects.  Likely either Brayden Schenn or Sean Couturier would head south along with defenseman Matt Carle, who is an UFA (unrestricted free agent) at season’s end. The problem is that Suter is also an UFA.  Meaning the Flyers could give up a promising future star for a player who could walk after the season.  “Rental” players as they’ve become known, are very risky. I have never been a fan of trading for an UFA.
