I believe the difference between the two charging penalties has a lot to do with Miller leaving his crease to play the puck the first time, as opposed to getting raped in his own paint the second time. And make whatever argument you want against Lucic, he didn't extend any part of his body towards Miller's head and neck. Tootoo turned into a rocket and connected directly with Ryan's cranium at crashing speed.

The fact remains that this is radical for the NHL. Nobody likes change at first. Trust me when I say, that you will not be disappointed once this plan gets underway. Oh, and don’t forget to start building up your hate for the Capitals and Hurricanes now.

Lou told me that he and Proppy love having local bloggers and small-time beat writers as guests on their show. It gives the viewers a perspective that they can relate to. And seeing as how I am not a
credited reporter and never disclose any news firsthand from behind the scenes, this was a perfect chance to really connect to the demographic I come from, and write to.

You'd think with six days of rest and some Californication, the Orange & Black would hit the ice with an established game plan. What immediately followed was anything but.

The Ducks have had a tough start this season. Even though the team has some high-power super stars in Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf and "Team Teemu" Selanne, they have trouble scoring. 2.21 goals per game, second worst in hockey BUT they made up for it by not keeping the puck out of their net.

Eight-hundred and fifty-thousand dollars may not be at all that much compared to the monies spent on players under the cap ceiling. However the Flyers CANNOT afford this at all. I mean, technically they can. But I'm speaking in the practical sense that you have an NHL club traditionally flirting with the cap ceiling every single year.

Minutes ago, a whole gaggle of Flyers columnists, beat writers and reports frantically punched the keys on their cellphones and Twitter disclosing Pronger admits his injuries he's sustained as a Broad Street Soldier have been "freak accidents" and have nothing to do with the fact he's a 37-year old man.

If anything, this is Schenn's time to show his hometown skeptics that he deserves to wear a Flyers crest. It was a tough break early on in the season when Brayden suffered a shoulder injury and then fractured his foot blocking PK Subban's shot back in October, but he's got his chance this Friday against the Ducks to show up with a vengeance. And mark my words.....he will.
