Extra, Extra, READ All About It, Rookies Run Amok Sens 7 - 2

Tuesday night the youthful feel of the Flyers appeared.  The youngest members of the orange and black shined brightly, accounting for 7 points,  as the rejuvenated Flyers toppled the Senators 7-2.

The Flyers came into Tuesday’s matchup with the Binghamton, ahem, excuse me, Ottawa, Senators looking to improve upon team discipline.  After a disappointing loss to the LA Kings, the orange and black pack was looking to reduce their number of trips to the sin bin.  Something that, ultimately, cost them the game on Saturday night.

Any Given Tuesday, The Lesser Opponent

But it's difficult to shake off a routine like habitually taking trips to the sin bin at very unfortunate times. Especially if it's established this early in the schedule and sticks with us. So it's best if the head of this snake's cut off before another should-be-win is bitten again.

Forget About the "Tony The Tiger" Jerseys, PSD Reports These To Be the Real Winter Classic Sweaters

The hockey sweaters to the left have been indicated by Philly Sports Daily to be the actual Flyers Winter Classic swag.

The reason for the alternate captain's 'A' on Giroux's jersey was because this image appeared before Pronger was named Captain, and Timonen and Briere named his minions (also per PSD).

Kings Come Calling; Flyers-West Head East

Saturday the Kings come to the Wells Fargo center for an early season tilt against our hometown boys.  Fresh off an Overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils, the Los Angeles Kings (1-1-1) look to turn things around against the Flyers (3-0-0).

So Now Philadelphia Loves Cancer...

I can't wait to go to Yahoo Hockey to read all the accolades the Flyers will be receiving. All the talk about how losing Jeff Carter, Mike Richards and Ville Leino must have really hurt the scoring. I can't wait to read on that Yahoo page about the great play of Ilya Brygalov, and how he's played out of his mind. I'm sure a picture of Claude Giroux will be on the front page, and the fact he's now tied for second in points in the NHL.

Jeremy Roenick Speaks His Mind, Pens Nation Overdoses on Midol

I love watching Sidney Crosby, but aren't you guys sick of all this by now? I'm sick of it. I'm sick and tired of listening to Sidney Crosby saying, 'Nothing is new yet.' Just don't interview him anymore. I know he's the best player in the league, the best player in the world. Head shots are very, very difficult. I'm not saying he's not hurt. There's no question. I've been hit very, very hard. I understand what concussions are all about.you have to be very concerned about this. But enough.

Weekes Is Weak, Top 8 Goalies

Yesterday NHL.com posted a video of former NHL goalie, Kevin Weekes, giving his Top 8 Goalie picks for the start of the 2011-12 season.

No big deal. His picks are certainly talented. And I'd concur.

But the order in which he ranked them? Please....

Keys To A Winning Wednesday

We're quite the rain on teams' parades this early in the schedule. But now with the Flyers returning home for the first time in the 2011-12 season, we have the mighty Canucks looking to flip that reputation around on us and create a cloud of doubt above the roof of the Wells Fargo Center.

"Betts Is Back? Waive Shelley!" WRONG!

In case you've become completely engulfed by the tragedy stricken from the Phillies and Eagles epic failures over the weekend and happened to miss out on some potentially very important Flyers detail; Blair Betts failed his physical (due to lower-body injury) with the Montreal Canadiens after getting picked up off Waivers last week.

What Is This "Shutout" You Speak Of?

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010 is the last time the Philadelphia Flyers inked a regular season shutout. Their opponent? The Toronto Maple Leafs. Brian Boucher stopped all 23-shots.

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 in the Eastern Conference Finals is the last recorded Flyers shutout against the Montreal Canadiens. Our man in net? Michael Leighton, who denied all 17 pucks fired on net.
